Zagroda Kuwasy is situated, close to many tourist routes, thus providing an ideal base for excursions to all local places of interest. It is practically impossible to be bored here with all the wonderful countryside and the close proximity of Eastern Mazury and the town of Augustów. Each year a great many tourists from Poland and Western Europe come to the Biebrza valley to enjoy the unspoilt, wild nature of this area. The Biebrzański National Park has recently celebrated the twentieth anniversary of it?s creation and the Czerwone Bagno, a marshland nearest to Zagroda Kuwasy, has been protected for over hundred years.
In the early spring one can witness the wonderful return form migration of many thousands of wild geese and gigantic flooding of Biebrza river. The autumn brings with it the elk mating season and huge flocks of cranes gather in preparation for the winter migration.
Among 62 species of birds, regarded as facing extinction, 42 nest in this area including Great Snipe (Gallinago media), Ruff (Philomachus pugnax), Black Grouse (Tetrao tetrix), Wodniczka (Acrocephalus paludicola), Greater Spotted Eagle (Aquila clanga), White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), Black Stork (Ciconia nigra). One can also came across some very rare protected plants in the marshes such as sundews (drosera) and wild orchids.
Zagroda Kuwasy is also a place where you can buy tickets to National Park. We collaborate closely with superb licensed National Park guides and our receptionists are happy to arrange guided tours for our guests who want to explore world of wild nature.
