Situated near the Machalilla National Park on the Ecuadorian central coast this park is an outstanding examples of Tropical Dry Forest. Established in 1979 and occupying more than 55.000 hectares the area is abundant
with fauna and flora, especially birds, with a list which has grown to almost 300 species.
Between the months of June and September the coastal region of Puerto Lopez and la Isla de la Plata become even more enchanting thanks to the visit of Humpback Whales. Every year the Humpback Whales choose the pacific coast of the province of Manabí as the perfect place for their pairing and reproduction. We offer one of the most unforgettable and gratifying experiences imaginable as we take a 3 hour boat ride out on the ocean to witness these amazing creatures.
Our superb boat The Mantaraya II offers scuba diver the chance to explore the fantastic coral reefs that abound with colorful fish and corals and at certain times of year the Humpback Whales, huge Manta Rays, sharks, dolphins and several species of turtle. We also offer snorkeling where a variety of dazzling fish can be enjoyed among the hard and soft corals, sponges, and alcyonacea.
Whether its tropical dry forest birds and mammals or whales, dolphins and countless tropical fish we have it all.
