We are in the heart of a forest reserve of more than 500 hectares. Reserve that has been our home and that of a large amount of flora and fauna.
The lodge has a number of beautifully designed rooms that are not only comfortable but also have a number of equipt with wifi and your own en-suite bathroom. San Gerardo de Dota is a privileged area due to its abundant fauna. Where you can observe many species of birds, in addition to the mythical Quetzal.
With hundreds of species to offer, this is a must visit are when birding in Costa Rica. A number of specialties can be found here like the rare Wrenthrush and Silver-fronted Tapaculo to the brighter more common species like the Fiery-throated Hummingbird and Golden-browed Chlorophonia. Most people however visit this area to see Central America’s most sought after species, the Resplendent Quetzal.
