A relaxing inn on the San Pedro River with direct access to the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area (SPRNCA). The San Pedro River flows out of Mexico and heads north to the Gila River, and thence to the Colorado. The Inn is located just 90 miles SE of Tucson AZ, but only inches from Heaven. The Inn features 10 comfortable guest rooms with modern amenities (heat, AC, WiFi, full daily breakfasts, 110% of our electricity is generated by our solar panels). While it is possible to easily view 100 to 200 species of birds in the area in just a few days, many of our guests also like to take the time to relax in the comfort of the inn as a getaway from the world in a quiet and sustaining environment.

The inn is situated in an area rich with wildlife, with easy access to all of the regions hottest birding, butterfly, and other wildlife habitats. The San Pedro River Valley is bounded on the West by the Huachuca Mountains (7 miles west) featuring the Coronado National Monument, the Coronado National Forest with famous birding canyons (Ash Canyon, Ramsey Canyon, and Huachuca and Garden Canyons on Fort Huachuca). Sierra Vista (15 miles) is a good shopping center with active access to birding areas from the San Pedro House and Murray Springs, plus the Sierra Vista Environmental Ponds.
To the East the San Pedro River Valley is framed by the Mule Mountains by Bisbee (15 miles) for Old West mining history and a vital arts community.

Valley to the east of Bisbee are even more fertile wildlive viewing areas at Whitewater Draw (22,000 Sandhill Cranes in the Winter plus numerous waterfowl), and access to the famous Chiricahua Mountains and the Chiricahua National Monument. Along the way you The the Sulphur Springs can visit the Slaughter Ranch on the Mexican Border near Douglas, Az, or visit Old West towns and national reserves (Bowie Monument, and Tombstone AZ).
Further afield one can easily make day treks to the west for wine country, the Patagonia and Kino Springs nature areas, and a backroads trip through the Santa Rita Valley to the East of the Huachuca Mountain Range.
