Horta da Quinta
Guadiana Valley Natural Park, Portugal
Guest House / B&B / Homestay

In the heart of the municipality of Mértola, Horta da Quintã is a tourism unit in a very unconventional rural area. It is governed by ecological principles that blend the landscape with a regionally inspired décor. This is a simple and family-friendly unit that offers guests a cozy space with internet, air conditioning and able to receive people with reduced mobility. Outside the natural pool is ideal on summer days and, in winter, the cozy fireplace invites you to rest. Horta da Quintã also has a gym, workshop for artistic workshops, in addition to the three double bedrooms. Breakfasts with high quality Quinta Biológica products are the starting point for exploring the region through some of the unit’s packages, such as hiking; routes of endogenous products, cheese, bread and herbs; fishing; bird watching; canoes and mountain biking.
Horta da Quintã offers three double bedrooms, a living room, equipped with a complete kitchen and a fireplace to tuck in on winter days. It also provides air conditioning for greater comfort, and a free wi-fi network. Outside, we have an extraordinary natural pool, an ideal escape on warm summer days in the Alentejo, and a gymnasium. The facilities are also prepared to receive people with reduced mobility.
In addition to the idyllic environment, this tourism unit offers a variety of experiences linked to nature, starting with breakfast, which privileges organic local products and therefore superior quality. It also offers several activity packages that include workshops that reveal traditions and endogenous products. The baking of Alentejo’s unique bread, the production of honey, wine, cheese, jams, olive oil and strawberry tree, and the exploitation of products such as turtles, figs and herbs.
Horta da Quintã is still the starting point to get to know everything that the municipality of Mértola has to offer, from birdwatching, which gives us to know the species of birds that find in the Guadiana Valley natural park their habitat, canoeing tours along the river, paintball, fishing, nature observation tours, btt, jeep tours, star observation and cultural tours (with the possibility of a tour guide) in the magnificent village with an intoxicating story to tell those who pass through it.
In addition to cultural and natural tourism, the geographical location of this tourism unit also makes it possible to escape to the river beach of Mina de S.Domingos, awarded several times for its quality, which is about 10 km away.
