Tranquilo Bay is an eco lodge located on Isla Bastimentos, Bocas del Toro, Panama adjacent to Bastimentos National Marine Park.
Tranquilo Bay is an owner-operated eco adventure lodge located on Isla Bastimentos, Bocas del Toro, Panama adjacent to Bastimentos National Marine Park. We have over a kilometer of Caribbean coastline covered in coral gardens teaming with tropical fish. Our facilities encompass over 200 acres, with over a mile of hiking trails full of wildlife. At least 75% of the acreage has been left to evolve in its natural state.
The interior of each of the six cabanas is tastefully and comfortably appointed with air-conditioning, local hardwoods, tile floors, fine linens and a calming color palette. Each bedroom features a bed or beds, handcrafted for Tranquilo Bay, made from local hardwoods with an orthopedic mattress. Reading lamps and various books are also found within each bedroom. A covered porch with a hammock, Adirondack chairs and a ceiling fan await to help you escape the “every day” that you left behind when you enter the grounds at Tranquilo Bay.
Four cabanas have a breathtaking ocean view. Two cabanas have a luscious tropical jungle view. Three cabanas have one queen bed and three cabanas have two double beds. Additional beds are available upon request.
The Main Lodge is where meals and indoor recreational activities take place. The ocean view and elevation over the jungle canopy are incredible. The upstairs balcony is the perfect place to watch the sunrise with your morning coffee and the moonrise in the evening with a cold beverage. The monkeys and birds also travel through on their late afternoon feeding migration. There is no better
vantage point in Bocas del Toro for relaxing and taking in the view this building.
Meals at Tranquilo Bay are included with each of the packages. Breakfast offerings may include a continental buffet, your choice of eggs and one special breakfast entree each day. Lunch will be packed for those guests whose activities keep them away from the resort. For those remaining on site, a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches are available. Appetizers are provided during the cocktail hour preceding dinner. Dinners vary based upon the local ingredients available; however you should expect three or four delicious courses each night. Information regarding special dietary requirements or allergies should be provided to Tranquilo Bay in advance.
Tranquilo Bay is centrally located amongst the most biologically diverse and protected areas in Panama and Central America. We explore these areas from the comfort of our facility and often cross three or more ecosystems in a single excursion.
The province of Bocas del Toro hosts two national parks, one of which is a world heritage site. One park, Bastimentos National Marine Park, covers a large portion of the archipelago and is home to a variety of ecosystems that thrive at or around sea level. Our expeditions into the parks are designed to cover a diverse range of ecosystems and terrain and can be tailored to meet your group’s areas of interest, experience and physical abilities. Guests feel like part of the family at Tranquilo Bay.
